When I was little, I remember going trick or treating with my beautiful older sister dressed as a pumpkin or little kitty cat or maid. There was great innocense and excitement surrounding those warm nights in california enjoying the festivities or trick or treating or bobbing for apples. The only fear I ever had surrounding Halloween in the 1980s as a little girl was that my parents might immediately throw away all the candy before I got to enjoy any.....they didnt want me to get any caries. My parents went with us door to door and encouraged our recitation of the infamous saying TRICK OR TREAT....I dont think I understood the trick part because I didnt know any magic tricks like how to disappear coin and make it reappear behind my sister's ear....but I did understand the treat part....snickers, skittle, lollipops,ect.
Now I am older, and I have become quite sensitive to the festivities of Halloween. I guess when you are older you start to question the WHY of things. I keep debating if I should take all the HALLOWEEN festivities so seriously or should I just enjoy or let my children enjoy the childhood memory of candy bags and friends dressed up in makeup/costumes.
I have to say my son convicted me. He is much more sensitive to things of faith than I was when I was his age. It actually disturbs him the things that he see surrounding Halloween. He told me he wished all the fun and games he was going to have at school tomorrow wasnt for halloween. Because of him, I am digging a little deeper.What it is that makes his heart sensitive to these things. God asks us to have faith like a child.So for his sake I am going to acknowledge the things that are dark about halloween and expose them for what they are. I think that it is wise to know what you are celebrating even if you are not celebrating the day for the same original meaning.
I dont mean to offend anyone who celebrates halloween for the fun and games of it. As I previously stated, I much enjoyed those childhood treats. But once you become wise to something you have to make a decision I believe. I am also looking into this because a co worker who knows nothing of me except that I occassionally go on missions trip to help people said to me yesterday....Krissy you dont celebrate Halloween right? Why did she say that. It is because of "the light has to cast out darkness thing" we are Christians have to live out....I think so.

On Saturday we went to a TRUNK or TREAT event, lots of families and friends meeting together. What do I like about halloween? People actually are generous and give out gifts to strangers! People are able to be friendly to one another!Parents and children are together doing the same things together!There is a sense of community!!! But I was greatly disturbed when I saw what I think was a boy and girl twin staning hand and hand with their mother heading for the same trunk or treat car and noticed that the small four year old children had painted blood around their necks and down their previously white shirts. They had strangulation marks drawn around their necks. It was a horrible sight to see and I literally saw Christopher cringe and he let out a big sigh. Later we had to stick our hand into a witches bowl/culdrine and as we reached we saw a severed head in the brew of candy. How frightening! Then we went by the GIRL SCOUT station and saw two girls reacting a murder scene. It was horrid! I suddenly felt very uncomfortable bringing my son to such a "community event." We left shortly thereafter......Needless to say tomorrow we will not trick or treat....we are going to an alternative church event celebrating the fall and community of fellow brothers and sisters in a more positive manner. Im glad my son can still have fun like his other friends but not going to be exposed to some very scary scenes......(What some intend for evil Christ intends for good)

As the Catholic missionaries swarmed Britain and Ireland seeking the
mass conversion to Catholicism their orders from Pope Gregory in 601
A.D. was to cunningly convert the Druid rituals into Catholic rituals.
The Catholics converted the ritual of Samhain into the festival of All
Saint’s Day, a day of celebration and prayer to dead "Saints."
Halloween begins well over 2,000 years ago in the British Isles.
Here, we find the holiday stripped to its most essential element: a
night when Celtic tribes communed with the spirits of the ancestral
dead. These grand and glorious pagan celebrations were assimilated by
the Catholic church. . . The Catholic festival of All Saints Day was also known as All Hallows
Day, with the word "hallow" replacing "saints." The day before All
Hallows Day (October 31) was recognized as All Hallows Eve. Eventually,
All Hallows Eve became Hallows Eve; hallow’even; hallow’en and
ultimately today’s Halloween.
All Saints' Day perpetuated the pagan Samhain of November Eve.

In 835, Pope Gregory IV "blessed" All Saint’s Day as a sacred
"day of obligation," consequently on that day, the Catholic Church
officially "ordained" Halloween. Halloween owes its very life and breath
to the "blessing" of the Catholic Church. Samhain would have breathed its last breath many years ago if not for the "ordination" of the Catholic Church.
Few holidays have a stranger or more paradoxical history
than Halloween. Technically, it is the vigil of All Saints Day, observed

A perverse and blasphemous twist to Halloween concerns the name
"Halloween." The word "hallow" means "holy, sanctify or consecrate." The
popular Lord’s Prayer in Matthew 6:9 begins with, ". . . Our Father
which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. . ." The label "hallow" belongs to God the Father—Hallowed be thy name.
Halloween was a night sacrificing young children to the worship of
Baal. It is no accident that the name of history’s most hellish night,
glorifying "death and hell," wears God the Father’s holy name of
"hallow." The blasphemous name of "Halloween" clearly bears the
fingerprints of Lucifer as found in Isaiah 14:12, ". . . I will be like
the most High."

JACK-O’-LANTERN: If Witches are the Queen of Halloween, the smiling jack-o’-lantern is the King. The
demonic jack-o’-lantern leaves most historians baffled tracing its
spooky origin. One popular tale, tells of Jack who tricked the devil in a
deal for his soul. But the origin of the jack-o’-lantern is much more
sinister. It arrives from the Druid’s ghastly reverence of the severed
human head! They proudly decorated their houses and temples with bloody
severed heads. The Druids believed the head housed the soul, hence the
light or candle in the skull. The original jack-o’-lantern was not a pumpkin or turnip, but a severed human head!
Trophy, charm, or ornament, the human head figured prominently in
Celtic life. Warriors hung enemy heads on their houses as a show of

It is believed that faces, rather than other images or symbols, were originally carved onto the pumpkin because they gave the jack-o’-lantern the look of a head. The

and costumes carry a long history in the occult and demon possession.

• THE OMEN OF HALLOWEN •
While many deem Halloween as harmless fun and fantasy, Halloween
subtlety disarms our (and especially our children) discernment of
witches and the occult. Halloween’s magic potion of "fun and frolic"
transformed witches, demons, devils and evil incarnate into "fine
folks." Over 1.2 million practicing and proud witches live in America.
Witchcraft currently is the fastest growing religion in America. At some
time, nearly every little girl becomes a witch on Halloween. Witch
RavenWolf delights when a vulnerable little girl dresses as a witch on
Halloween:

Occult historian Jean Markale discloses Halloween bids more than childish dress-up. It is a pagan "initiatory journey" guided by someone [Satan] "hidden in the shadows," and none "return from Halloween innocent":

who prompted the quest and who, sometimes hidden in the shadows,

Dr. David Enoch, former senior consultant psychiatrist at the Royal Liverpool Hospital and the University of Liverpool, states:
Halloween practices open the door to the occult and can introduce
forces into people’s lives that they do not understand and often cannot

According to the World Book Encyclopedia, Halloween means
"a holy evening" because it takes place the day before "All
Saints' Day."
Many superstitions and symbols are connected with
Halloween. Long before the advent of Christianity In Europe, the belief in
witches, sorcerers and magic was widespread. A worship of fertility was the
main object of these early religious and mystical practices.
From about 1500 B.C., the much feared Druids were in power
In Western Europe. This was a sect of priests, both male and female. Their
cruelty and barbarity in the kind of magic they practiced far outweighed their
scholarship. People were used as sacrifices and were flogged, tortured, and
sexually molested before they were killed by having their hearts torn out
while they were still alive. Their sexual organs were cut off and conserved to
be used in black masses. Sometimes they were skinned, and the skin was used in
different rites.
The Druids taught that on Halloween ghosts, spirits,
fairies, witches and elves came out to harm people. From this terrible satanic
religion comes the use of witches, ghosts, and cats In today's celebration of
Halloween.
The Druids had an autumn festival called "Samhain,"
which marked the end of summer. It was a fertility festival thanking the
spirits (demons) for the crops of that year. During the night, black masses
were conducted. The custom of using leaves, pumpkins, and cornstalks as
Halloween decorations comes from this Druid festival.
In 700 A.D. The Roman Catholic Church made November 1,
"All Saints' Day" and the old pagan customs and the Christian feast
day were combined into the Halloween festival because the people refused to
leave the old customs.
My other questions was this: The above statements are the from the past, but does these terrible things still occur and are celebrated today??????????????????

YES it is true.
Halloween can be a night of fun just dressing up with friends and family and eating candy.....but to some it is a serious religious holiday which includes rituals and practice that are gruesome and disturbing at best......please consider these things...thanks to my son I am!!!!!!!!!
